Born November 28, 1995 in Houston, Texas and formerly known as ‘Devontrae Jevoris Fairchild’ reimaging to ‘Corye Janice West’
The name change came as a homage to his deceased father, Corey Dwayne Janice who passed away when he was very young to a rare disease. Taking his fathers first name and making it his own and taking his fathers last name and making it his middle name. The curiosity always comes with the mention of the last name, which comes from another family member his father had the best relationship with and happens to be the reverend who helped bury him.

Corye West is known for his ability to understand that every sandbox is just a box filled with dirt to keep people in a confined space of creativity. It is then up to you to understand beaches are not confined to rules, are not made with intention and happen to be the most beautiful things on earth.
Corye came from a very common background of growing up. The rough upbringing did nothing but exercise his mind and create paths of opportunity to express his creativity. Understanding the world is full of “what’s expected”, he knew that his mission was to shift all narratives about what he chooses to involve himself in. Corye prides himself on being the best you can possibly be in the situation you are placing yourself into. So, he began diving into every category, to prove that anyone can do anything and it will only be as great as you want it to be. Through time he’s realized he had many interests and passions that made him who he was that he shares publicly through social platforms. Fashion Design culture is what felt closer to home. The ability to express yourself through combinations of art, and serve as an advertisement of your own vision. He believes it’s not about who you look like or who you’re trying to be, but what you feel like and does it represent you.
Corye enjoys the idea of “influencing” but not in the context you’re used to. He loves to influence others into thinking in the way they usually wouldn’t and stepping outside of their comfort zone. He also has the talent of connecting with everyone on a different level making them feel more like themselves in a room full of people trying to fit in. He influences and inspires many to push their creative boundaries through fashion, content creating and public speaking. Empowering people to see different possibilities.
Understanding the vision and perspective of Corye West is complex, yet so simple.
He is the facilitator and drive of what already is inside of you. His work reflects the fun process of trying new things, stepping into uncomfortable areas and providing tools to help you become the better version of yourself. Seeing anything other than what was described is just a mere reflection of , “He thinks he is all of that,” but not accepting that everything he immerses himself in is exactly what you could be doing. Experimenting and finding what defines you is what life is about.
